SNSD Defeat Suju in Album Sales in Japan

SEOUL - SNSD's album became the highest selling album in Japan, among other Korean music group album.

According to one of the largest music store in Japan, Tower Records, recorded and reported that SNSD's album ranked 1st for K-pop album sales in 2011.

Among the sales of K-pop singles, their debut SHINee Replay ranked 1st. And 2PM 'I'm Your Man' and Ultra Lover ranked 2nd and 3rd from the same chart.

"This year, SNSD has provided outstanding performances in Korea, Japan, and throughout the world . . . " said Tower Records as reported by Korea News, Wednesday (12/07/2011).

"Appearances are of high quality from SNSD, and rising with global activities, making all rank high in the charts," he continued.

In addition, TVXQ, a group that has demonstrated a popularity of "traditional" in Japan, released the fifth album 'Tone' in September. This album is ranked #13, the overall sales chart in 2011.

TONE sold more than 200 thousand copies in its first week of release, and ranked top of the Oricon Weekly Chart.
